Blocked MAC address keeps re-appearing

Greetings. I have a MAC address 88:57:1D:52:15:F0 continually hitting my 2.4G network. It's probably a neighbor's "smart" light or something. I've blocked it in the main network and the Gues IOT network, AND in parental controls but it still appears. What am I doing wrong? I don't want it filling up my system log. Thank you.
RT-BE88U running Merlin 3006.102.5.

I've had the same issue and found that sometimes the Wireless MAC filter does not work on Asus routers. I also put the MAC address in both 2.4 and 5 GHz deny list.

Thanks. I tried shutting the router down for 5 minutes but that didn't help.

I would see it getting authenticated and then immediately deauthorized, never having an IP address assigned. In the meantime I realized it's my Samsung range which had not been added to the network on the new router yet. I've added it and of course the issue has stopped. But, it still should have worked to stop the thing from trying to connect, when I thought it was a neighbor's smart light, which I've had happen in the past.

Default message log level is "notice" and log only messages more urgent than "info". I've always struggled with this setting, do you have a suggestion for how to set it?

Thank you.

Are you seeing it actually Authenticated to the router under the Wireless Log and what do you have as your Default message log level and Log only messages more urgent than set at?

I've got mine set to notice and debug. I had one device that was showing up in the Wireless log but not getting an IP address, I don't remember if it was actually Authenticated. I was able to get it to stop showing up by adding it to the MAC reject list and hasn't shown up again. I never did track down what it was that was trying to connect as I have all of my devices set with static leases. I suspect it was related to a new led controller that we had installed but it's physically inaccessible and the app that the company provided for it doesn't show any network details I have a suspicion that it might have had two radios in it and didn't have the correct network password filled in for one of them.
