The CPU Temp on my AC3100 has been steadily around 78c when idle. It hits 88c when under a load for more than a few minutes. So I bought some A/C for it.

Cooler Master NotePal X-Slim - Ultra Slim Laptop Cooling Pad with 160 mm Fan.

It plugs into the USB2.0 port on the router with a pass-thru plug and is the perfect size. The temperature now is a happy 52c. Now I don't have to worry about the CPU burning up or anything around it burning up.

The cost at the Egg was 17.99 with no tax and free shipping. I attached a picture in case anyone wondered how it fits with the router.

These are the idle temps for my 87u:
Temperatures 2.4 GHz: 50°C - 5 GHz: 59°C - CPU: 75°C
which sits on the floor of a room that is usually at a temp of about 65F.

I think I'm going to order one.

Before: Temperatures 2.4 GHz: 50°C - 5 GHz: 59°C - CPU: 75°C

After: Current Temperatures: 41 °C - 44 °C - 56 °C

If it's being used say, in a bedroom that is completely silent, you may hear it. I consider it very quiet.

In a bedroom that is completely silent you will hear it. It isn't silent but it isn't obnoxious either. It compares to a high quality 120mm case fan in db level I would think.
