Bridge mode.

Need some help configuring the following.
Optus (Australia) Netgear CG3000V2 - Asus RT-N66U

I'm trying to bridge the Netgear so i can use the Asus as the router.
I have put the Netgear in bridge mode and used Lan 1 to the Asus Wan port.
Although the Asus is saying there is an internet connection, there isn't!
I presume there is something i need to configure in the Asus that i'm not aware of.
Anyone savvy with this?

Thanks in advance.

From doing a quick search, it appears those Netgears are prone to flakiness when it comes to bridging (and functionality in general). You may have to reset the device to factory defaults a couple of times and then re-apply bridge mode for the connection to be passed correctly through to the Asus. Your wiring sounds correct, so the router *should* theoretically get a connection. I'm assuming Optus assigns you a dynamic IP, so make sure the internet connection on the Asus is set to DHCP or automatic (whichever the terminology it uses for automatic IP assignment). Other than that, double check that the Netgear is indeed in bridge-mode and that there is no NAT or firewall turned on -- that will prevent a double-NAT scenario, which can quite often disrupt connectivity.

Thanks trip....
I'll give it another go later today and let you know the outcome.
Hate to think i paid $300 for a vpn router, and another $400 for roku & atv to not have it work.
Unfortunately, there are no stand alone modems on the "optus approved" list so it has to be done through this bridge mode, otherwise i wouldn't have this problem. :-(
