Budget 24-port gigabit - Trendnet TEG-S24DG?

hej

New Around Here
Greetings,
I'm looking for a lower priced 24-port gigabit ethernet switch. From what I've seen, it looks like I can get something decent for $100~$170. Right now my top choice is the Trendnet TEG-S24DG, which Amazon has for $132 shipped.

Does anybody own this specific model? My biggest curiosity right now is whether or not it has holes/slots on the bottom for hanging on a wall. If somebody who has one can answer that question, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm also wondering if there are other "favorites" in this price range. In particular, I've also been looking at the TP-Link TL-SG1024 ($120).

What are your needs? That's an unmanaged switch. Quite frankly if an unmanaged switch is all you need, they're all pretty similar. Only differences might be reliability, but without years of experience with MANY units, it's all anecdotal. The biggest observable thing is how cool does it run, especially if you have a warm operating environment.

Managed switches obviously have far more variation in capabilities - and cost. There aren't many managed 24-port gigabit switches in your price range, none I could find normal price but here's some cheap web managed switches just a bit over your price range the third possibly being the best value:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833122364 - this one is only $123 right now after mail-in rebate. If you're willing to hassle with a mail-in rebate I'd buy it in your shoes. But it's a risk - note how many bad reviews it gets for Netgear not honoring the rebate! I wouldn't worry too much about the other bad reviews, you hear from the people with problems, not the happy customers.

Newegg also has some more choices and better prices on the two you mentioned. I don't know if this link will work (dunno how long Newegg search links are good for) but if it does, here's my search I just did:
