Can I delete ntfsck.00000000 and ntfsck.00000001?

I have 2 drives on my USB ntfsck.00000000 and ntfsck.00000001. As best as I can tell, they are empty. Are these needed for something or can I delete them?

They were created by Windows chkdsk. You can delete them but it's probably best if you just reformat the disk if there's nothing on it.
