I have an Asus RT-AX88U with the Merlin firmware.
My LG TV usually connects to 2.4Ghz and then it has bandwidth issues when streaming
locally stored 4K movies.

Is there a way to force this particular device to use only the 5Ghz band? I use a single SSID for both bands
as 'Smart Connect' is enabled in the settings.

Thanks

If it doesn't have a setting to choose a preferred band, no.

I don't know whether it would work with Smart Connect but you could try creating a Wireless MAC Filter for 2.4GHz. Set it to "Reject" mode and specify the MAC address of the TV.
Thank you! For some reason the PS5 was connecting only on 2ghz to my ASUS router. This fixed it.
