Cannot connect to router via SSH

Hi,

I am trying to connect to my router via local ip address 192.168.1.1 from inside LAN, via SSH.

Neither with CyberDuck nor with WINSCP can't make it work.

The settings i have on the router are:

Enable SSH - Yes
Allow SSH Port Forwarding - No
SSH Service Port - 22
Allow SSH access from WAN - No
Allow SSH password login - Yes
Enable SSH Brute Force Protection - No
Enable Telnet - Yes
Authentication Method - Both
Enable Web Access from WAN - No

It doesn't look like you are specifying Port 22 when you set up your connection.
 
Is this the first time you are trying to connect?

I see you have both authentication methods sat. I'd temporarily reset that to password only - to eliminate any possible PKI glitches.

Don't know about Cyberbuck but have you tried Putty or XShell? If you are still having problems, your settings/screenshots from Putty/XShell might help.

Strangely, your logfile doesn't tell much at all, not to me, anyway.

WinSCP doesn't support SSH connections so you can't be using that, but it does support SFTP and SCP. The router doesn't support SFTP which it looks like you are trying to connect with. Use SCP instead.

And Colin's reply has prompted me to ask a niggling question related to your setting of "both" for the authentication method: you did generate public-private keys for the client from which you were trying to connect? (The public key gets pasted into the router just below the section with the settings you quoted in your post.)
