Cannot enable NAT Acceleration on RT-AC68U

draftpunk

New Around Here
I have an RT-AC68U (technically a TM-AC1900 that I flashed to Merlin) and just upgraded my internet to a gigabit connection. The fastest speed I can get on a wired connection through the router is 250-300 Mbps. The problem is that I cannot enable NAT Acceleration. When I try to set the option to Auto, the router reboots but NAT Acceleration stays disabled. I am using firmware 380.70. I will say that I tried fully resetting all settings and this fixed the problem, but when I restored my settings back, the problem came back. Anyone have any idea what to do?

On the Tools > System Information page it should tell you the current state of hardware acceleration and if it's off the reason why. Typically because QoS or IPTraffic is enabled.

I think you have answered your own question. Do a reset and do not restore settings but manually add them one at a time until you find out what is disabling the NAT acceleration. I do know that after changing settings the router will do the zero to 100% count but that is not enough for the NAT acceleration to update. You need to do a reboot after making the settings change to see the effect on NAT acceleration. The 1000 MHz variant of the 68U is capable of 940 Mbps with only CTF so don't worry too much is you lose FA along the way.
