Cannot navigate but can use torrent

Hi guys,

This is an issue that has been plaguing me for years and I'm yet to solve it. Lately when I turn on my computer I can navigate for a while but then all of the sudden all my browsers stop working (torrent and p2p work though). When the problem occurs I get the following errors: ERR_CONNECTION_RESET, ERR_TIMED_OUT, ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE, ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED
Can anyone assist?

System:
Computer - Asus G75V
Router - Asus Rt-n66r-n900 forum
Wifi adapter - Netgear Wireless-N Dual band for wireless connections
OS - tried windows 7, 8.1 and 10 (present)
Antivirus - avast free edition

Solutions I've tried:

Power cycle my network
Disabled Avast's active web protection
Static ip
Auto ip
Static DNS
Auto DSN
Auto proxy
Manually configured proxy
Lowered the MTU

ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
netsh int ip reset
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ipv4 reset

Are you running Torrents when this occurs?

If so - might consider cutting back on the number of concurrent connections...

Your previous post (http://www.snbforums.com/threads/downloads-disconnect-my-internet.18031) suggested that this only happened when you were using torrents. Is that the case or does it happen when you are not saturating your bandwidth?

If it only happens when your bandwidth is saturated, have you tried using QOS?

Set your n66r to a static 2.4 GHz channel at 20 mhz bandwidth. I have a HP laptop that the wifi will cut out if I push the 2.4 GHz to 40 mhz
