I have a R7000 and a GT784WN DSL Modem.

I just set the Modem to "Pass Though" to the R7000.
Did a 'shields up' scan which turned out good.

Now I have the R7000 doing the Username and password login to my DSL provider.

This works great because it gives the R7000 more control, but I can not find my GT784WN now. Ya I know it is on the desk next to the R7000 where it was before.

I can not see it on the using the IP address it was under before.
I did a couple scans and did not find anything.

that's expected when bridging the modem; i have to manually set the ip be on the network of the modem, on a client directly attached to the modem to get the modem config page back. i believe there's a way to setup the router to change that, but i know my line quality is clean as a whistle so it hasnt bothered me

Don't know about DSL, but all the Cable modem (Motorola Surfboard) versions, and now, the Arris I have, all support viewing admin pages on the modem, e.g., signal strengths, using the special address of 192.168.100.1.

different subnet, but I guess it works because within the switches of my LAN, there's no need for routing at the IP layer.
