Channel width question

Does the channel I choose effect the bandwidth available to that channel? For example, if I choose 165 am I limited to less than 80?

Yeah 165 is 20Mhz only.

Thanks. An android app shows a reduced bandwidth, but I wasn't sure it was accurate because the graphic doesn't center on it, or 161 for that matter. 161 appears to be 40mhz then.
