Clear Text Password

I was just running the command `nvram` and was surprised to see the password for both my primary and guest networks available in clear text. Is this expected? And is there any way to have this data be stored with encryption by default?

That password needs to be passed to other system components such as hostapd, so it cannot be encrypted. The hostapd config file needs it in plaintext. So that's perfectly normal for a Linux system.
