Hi,

I am trying to progam some cron tasks at startup on a RP-AC68U through the usb_mount script but the CRU added commands fail to execute at the scheduled time. I read somewhere that in some cases the crond daemon is not started and effectively, ps | grep crond shows it is not running.

Now the question is, to start /usr/sbin/crond it is enough just by executing it ? does it have any parameter ? should it be started with another command somehow ? (such as service)

Thanks for any help

Well, for whoever is interested, the crond command itself, entered with -? parameter gives a good hint on how to invoke it. basically and without parameters it already takes care of running in background and provides output to syslog.. so this was an easy one.
