I have an ASUS RT-86U and i wish to install Merlins firmware onto this.

The confusion is that the firmware files are usually .trx but Merlins for some reason are .w

Obviously i didn't wanna push forward without posing the question as to is this now a normal for Merlins firmware as i didn't wish to brick my router needlessly.

Thanks

The HND routers 86U and 88U use the *.w file extension, while the older models use *.trx.

Darn Asus Marketing. They need to go back to naming their routers based on superheroes.
