New Around Here
Since upgrading my router last weekend from a Netgear R7000 to an Asus RT-AC86U I have been periodically receiving warning pages in Chrome (on Mac and iOS) that my connection may not be private. Some iOS apps have also suggested the network may be insecure.

The most common alert in Chrome is:
NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID

If I click to go back, click a link or enter the same domain again, I get the warning again. If I wait a few minutes all seems fine and Chrome stops giving me the Connection Not Private warning.

The first thing I did in setting up my router was upgrade the firmware to RMerlin 384.14_2

My best guess was that maybe these alerts are related to data being routed to or through Trend Micro servers, but I haven't found any other similar threads or support information online. I have not turned on any of the Trend Micro features that I am aware of. I may have accepted a license agreement when I first logged into the router to change the firmware to Merlin.

I can see information about upload/download bandwidth on the first Adaptive QoS page, but Apps Analysis if off. Next tab Enable QoS is off. Traffic classification = 3 second refresh with a note that QoS is not enabled. Web history is off.

Traffic Monitor is set to real-time. Traffic Analyzer - Statistic is off.

LAN Boost is off. AiProtection is off. AiCloud 2.0 features are off.

Any insight as to why I keep getting these alerts periodically would be appreciated. Thank you!

Follow up - this appears to be related to something Comcast is doing with their XFi modems to intercept/reroute/throttle traffic. The certificate in question is from “webui-xb3-cpe-srvr.xcal.tv." I am not sure why this all started with the change to the ASUS router, or if it is a coincidence?

Every 5 minutes (over and over and over) I see this in the AC86u system log. Is it normal? Related?
