Apologies if these questions have been covered, tried searching.
I have a buffalo Tera pro ii (2tb) and am trying to decide the best way to configure my nas setup (had a second one for backup but it no longer works so I am re-evaluating my setup). Don't use raid and primary use is as shared drive on giga network. Want fastest throughput and two level backup (backup at home to another drive and offsite backup).
I really like services like mozy and idrive for offsite storage. But none offer unlimited backup for network drives. So I am considering getting a USB 2.0 2tb drive (instead of another nas again), hooking it up to my computer and use software to backup the nas to it. Then I would use mozy or other service and have the backup drive backed up to the service. This seems ideal to me as I would get home backup and offsite backup without my other computers relying on my computer to access the primary drive (nas). Does anyone do this or have any thoughts on if this would be a good approach?
Thanks for your help,
Peter
