Some context would help people understand the point of this post

Kong has stopped all his public DD-WRT development due to conflicts with his job (they told him to drop all public DD-WRT development as it was conflicting with his current employer).

In addition to that, he also removed all his existing builds due to someone asking him to provide *everything* necessary to build an exact copy of his test builds, under the GPL license (and more or less threatened legal action if he failed to comply). So either because the tone of the request really irked him, or because once again he can't provide all the missing bits due to his job's "cease and desist" request, he pulled all those builds from his website to resolve any potential legal issue.

The community decided to gather together, collect whichever build they still had, and distribute them.
