A customer has asked to create a sub LAN with an Asus Merlin router. The DSL modem assigned the 192.168.1.84 to the Merline router:

The goal is to have the DSL modem forward inbound SSH to XYZ.asuscomm.com to the Asus router. The DSL modem has been configured to do this, however, obviously WAN IP is not 192.168.1.84. Is there a setting that can correctly get the WAN IP? (e.g. return the results of https://www.whatismyip.com)

Also, the DSL modem should place the ASUS router's WAN ip (192.168.1.84) in its DMZ.

Of course, ideally the DSL modem+router should be bridged so the ASUS router actually gets the public IP rather than the DSL modem+router. But perhaps that's not possible for some reason.
