Denon HEOS wil not work on ASUS RT-AC87U

New Around Here
I have an ASUS RT-AC87U and the Denon HEOS music system. The heos system is basically the same as sonos. The system runs like shi*** if it runs at all. I have tried another router, and there it ran flawlesly. But i really like this router and would hate to sell it. I have contacted Denon and Asus, and the reply from both companies, is update firmware. This is always the first thing i do, so that was taken care of.

I currently rund the Merlin 3.0.0.4.376.48_1 witch fixed the ftp sharing problem but not the HEOS problem.

I really need a solution or i have to part with the router.

Have tried other asus routers, and the Heos worked perfet.

This might be too late to solve your problem but given the amount of time I spent trying to figure out why heos wouldn't play well with a rt-ac88u I thought I'd offer the solution that I found on a sonos forum. My problem was that the heos would take a very long time to connect to the speakers--we are talking 5 minutes or so, and after a short while would disconnect from them so that I couldn't control the the volume without force quiting the ios app, restarting, waiting 5 or so minutes, etc. In any case, the answer was to turn off "airtime fairness". It's in the Wireless menu, professional tab. Disable airtime fairness and heos (and sonos) are right back to instantaneous connectivity from the phone app.
