is there a way to disable httpd (is always restarted by watchdog) ?
I rarely use the gui,and the idea is to enable it via ssh command when needed and disabling it again when done.
Im on RT_AC86U@merlin

No, it cannot be disabled.

:( ok
then for the workaround question => how to basically disable access to the gui another way ? (enable/disable via ssh)

I guess you could setup a firewall rule blocking access to its port. That will however interfere with anything else that may try to redirect to it, such as AiProtection or Parental Control blocking.

You can restrict the access to single device if you want to. It's IP based though and the device has to have IP reserved in DHCP. Otherwise if the automatically assigned IP changes - you are locking yourself out (you need to set static IP on the device manually to get in).

In Administration, System:

@firewall rule : I dont use ai protection/nor Im a parent :)
How would such a firewall rule look like (the iptable rules are still a bit of a undiscovered country for me :) )

@access list : if I i..e add 192.168.1.33 and tick WebUI,than this Ip and ONLY THIS IP has access to the webUI right ?
But that would also mean that NO other IP has web NOR ssh access ?!
