Diversion Diversion - Ads Not Getting Blocked

I have got a RT-BE88u and am working towards making my home network safer. I have installed Diversion 5.4.6, with the "Large" blocking list, but am noticing that the ads are not being blocked.

Could it be due to me using the DNS Director to route traffic through OpenDNS Family?

Does the fix to enable Diversion mean that I have to remove this DNS redirection? If so, how can I ensure that beyond ad-blocking and malware blocking through Diversion, that my kids cannot access sites that are usually blocked by the OpenDNS safelist?
