New Around Here
Hi everybody.
First of all, sorry if ask you something basic stuff but I am a beginner.
Second my english is ... poor. And not only ;)
So I installed a HDD with 2 partitions. 1 is formated Ex4 and the other is formated NTSF (used as files server).

I would like to install Diversion / Entware on the Ext4 (just because NTFS is not supported).
But each time the install tell me it wants a USB KEY!
I guess it doesn't see the HDD.
SO!
Is it possible (and how) to install it on a HDD?
It seems to me rough that it can not be.

In advance, thank you for your answers

Hi L&LD
I am using the "default" Merlin's AMTM. I did not install it.
I use a USB HDD divised in 2. One part is NFTS format with files. The part 2 is Ext4 format I would like to use to install Entware and others needed by AX-88U.
Instead of a USB-KEY, I would like to know if it is possible to install Diversion and/or Entware on the Ext4 hdd part ?

Thank you.

Yes, by using amtm to format to the Ext4 format it is looking to use. ;)

I typed the FD command.
I read that:
"The process erases all data and partitions
on the device."
If I well understand it will erase ALL the partitions
It is a 750 go's HDD.
So you can imagine that is not what I want.
I would like to keep the partition already used as files server.

Can you confirm:
the FD command will erase all my partitions?
No way else then amtm take all?

You would be better of using s thumb drive. A conventional hard drive may spin down and cause problems with the Entware. Also make sure your external HDD uses its own power supply.

Hi bbunge
As I wrote it is rough that Entware and so it not able to use a HHD partition.
o_O my HDD has not its own supply (plug'n supply) . What is the problem about that?

Is a 16 go thumb drive enough?
Will it manage if I plug the thumb drive AND the HDD?
