New Around Here
Currently using a dlink dir 868l router and asus rt ac55uhp as access point.

As my contract with my ISP is expiring, they are providing me a Linksys EA8100 AC2600 router which I intend to use with my same asus as access point.

Question is will this setup be better than a mesh network in terms of speed? On a 1Gbps plan.

Thanks!

If you are able to wire in an access point then you are definitely better off than using a mesh network relying on wireless backhaul links.

The EA8100 seems like a decent router and is probably better than the DIR-868L.
