New Around Here
Hello

I did some searching in the forum but I didn't find anything particularly related to what I'm looking to do.

Running an R8900, I just updated the router to the newest available version, and just added entware to it. (thank you for that capability)

I used to run pfsense, and had the ability to resolve specific external web/dns names to an internal IP.

I added two packages after the install, adsuck, and dnsmasq, not sure if thy conflict. when I went to start the dnsmasq it said

dnsmasq: failed to create listening socket for port 53: Address already in use

and a netstat -tuln | grep LISTEN revealed

tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:53 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN
tcp 0 0 :::53 :::* LISTEN

any input or step in the right direction would be appreciated

Thank you

OK, I didn't realize that the dnsmasq service was already running after the installation. with lsof I was able to see that it was indeed dnsmasq listening on port 53, so I reloaded the config and its working, in the event anyone needs it, in the /etc/dnsmasq-resolv.conf file I added this line

address=/address/ip
address=/server.example.com/0.0.0.0

and then ran /etc/init.d/dnsmasq reload

Thank you
