It looks like most if not all official instructions on how to setup an AiMesh node say to use the WAN port on the node router if using ethernet backhaul. I was just curious if this actually matters. Can you use one of the LAN ports, even during setup of the node? Anyone play around with this and have any comments to share?

Thanks,
Harry

You must use the WAN port.

You should use the WAN port. If there is a multi-Gig LAN/WAN port that typically defaults to LAN5, you can use it and it should then default to being the WAN port for the AiMesh wired backhaul.
