Is there a limit on the maximum number of dropbear ssh sessions? Is there a setting like MaxAuthTries?

If this is a different issue then dropbear has the -T (Maximum authentication tries) parameter which is the maximum number of allowed authentication attempts, which by default is 3. That is not the same as the maximum number of sessions.
