New Around Here
I am trying to fix this issue for like 2 days.
I was on latest firmware, and i tried to upload merlin onto it, and then it said NVRAM full, so I did factory reset so i reset the NVRAM, trying to upload back firmware and it says Upload DSL firmware, then I try to upload other firmware, finally it doesnt say that error but still no synchronization or LED blinking, like its dead.
how to get it to work? thanks

What other firmware? The DSL-AC68U firmware is all in one file, in two flavours. I believe you may have flashed the dsl firmware followed by the non-dsl firmware. The non-dsl firmware is for those that don't use the modem. Flash the dsl firmware once more, reset, and use the router as normal.

No I am sure I flashed other DSL firmware, nguton with DSL on the ending of the file.
Now listen what I am gonna tell you.
So I tried for hours, every single thing I can possibly find.
I found this also, I was skeptical but desperate:

I put the hair dryer on my router for 6 minutes, it was hot to touch, then I started to proceed with firmware upload but through Asus rescue, I keep hair drying it , then suddenly DSL was blinking.
It fracking worked.
I dont even understand what or why it needs to be hot in order to work. but it does. WOW.

Edit:
quote:
Chances are a relay somewhere or capacitor or some MOBO component are like .001" away from the contact they're trying to conduct a charge to. So when the heat causes the coefficient of thermal expansion one of the components is just close enough to not work without the heat and just close enough to work WITH the heat once whatever component expands.
You have a dead capacitor somewhere in the motherboard. Re-heating the capacitor or capacitors will temporarily bring it back to life
