Dual AC86U LAN to WAN 100Mbit issue

Wondering if anyone has some tips for what might be causing my issue.

I have 2x AC86U, one has the internet coming in at 1Gbps and then from a lan port, a cable is connected to the WAN port of another AC86U which is in AP (Access Point) mode.

The Access Point AC86U is only showing 100Mbit, but if i move the cable from the Wan to a Lan port, it switches to 1Gbps, so i assume the cable is fine.

Are there limitations on the speed that the WAN port can do when the router is in Access point mode?

As an aside, the Access point is also wierdly showing up as: Device: D-Link IPCam

Both are running Merlins firmware 384.12.

maybe your WAN port is defective, have a look inside, all 8 pins have to be parallel up, or the chip got wrong.
with 4 pins you get only 100Mb/s, for 1G you need all 8 pins.
Or the cable is somewhere on the edge to fail and one port can still handle the signals while others wont.

Connect your laptop/PC with different cable to WAN port to test it with 1G.

Everything looks ok, WAN can hit 1Gbps normally, and I found another thread from 2 years ago with a very similar problem. Makes me wonder if there are limitations on Access Point mode when you plug into the WAN port.
