Even when added some domains as guided for android TV, youtube will still have 50/50 chance of stuck at black screen when starting to play youtube.
Adding MAC of android TV to DNS filter -> no filtering doesn't seem to solve the problem :(
(Same problem when I dont use Pihole but set WAN DNS to Adguard, both seem to block something and prevent youtube from working as intended, its normal if no pihole/adguard is running)
Still, I want to exclude the TV from using Pihole as DNS. How?
Thanks in advance!

The simplest way is to manually set the DNS servers in the TV's network settings. Its common that you can continue to allow IP allocation via DHCP but specify specific DNS (8.8.8.8 and/or 1.1.1.1).

If that doesn't work then you'll probably have to use the LAN > DHCP Server> Manually Assigned Around IP list to set both local IP and external DNS.

Some (mostly TV) apps have been set up in a hyper-paranoid manner such that should they detect PiHole, AdGuard, Unbound, the on router DNS cache or anything similar they'll refuse connection. In some circumstances, the only means to get these apps to play is to completely circumvent all the intermediates! The app you see here in the UK that exhibits this behaviour on some devices (not all) is the BBC iPlayer.
