Sharing a fix: router time was May 2018 (not expected Sept 2024).

After trying different ntp servers and command line checks, I saw pings to url weren’t working as expected with Comcast DNS (though okay with Cloudflare DNS) I contacted my ISP (Comcast) who diagnosed my modem needed reprovisioning. After Comcast re-provisioned the modem, then rebooting Merlin FW router all is well with NTP :)

(I noticed the problem after dirty upgrade to Merlin latest FW and checking the admin pages and system log: it was not caused by Merlin FW or my dirty upgrade: I tested a clean upgrade and the NTP problem duplicated, so then called Comcast)
