Thank mate. Hope everything is OK now
My apologies....

for going silent over the last month. I had a family emergency which pretty much turned my life upside down, at least for the foreseeable future. Things are a little quieter now, so I'll be able to spend a bit more time back here.

I have a new release which was ready to go, which I hope to have up shortly and I'll be trying to catch up with any posts/questions/PMs. Please be patient. Thanks.

Well, it's nice to see there's still at least a passing interest in this fork.....over 3300 views to this thread since I posted the new release! :D

Appreciate the continued support.
I would guess that interest will only grow as 380.70 ages and no longer safely serves n66 and ac66 users. I have no contingency plan for the day that you stop doing this, sooo... thanks.

Working well on my N66U. For most of us with >100Mb internet, our older routers still serve us well so your efforts aren't in vain, John. You should post a donation link so you're at least somewhat supplemented for your time and work. Thanks and may you continue to be blessed by Odin.

Yes, I would gladly donate a few beers (or coffees) for everything done.

2nd this. A BuyMeACoffee link would be nice if John doesn't want to reveal his Paypal personal information

can't seem to find the answer, whats the difference between the e and l builds?

Never mind, it helps to read the release notes :)

*) 'E' Builds are the default releases
The AC68U firmware supports all revs and variations of the AC68 with a new SDK
The 'E' Builds starting with V29 also contain the fix for the KRACK exploit for all models
- Applicable if the router is used in Repeater or Media Bridge modes
- The KRACK fix carries new wireless drivers for all models
'L' Builds are based on the original fork firmware
The AC68U firmware only support revs A1,A1,B1 with an older SDK release
The 'L' Builds carry the original wireless drivers circa 2014 release for all routers.

Is there a Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) DNSCrypt option or do I just enter 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 into the DNS fields? Also, anyone know if DNSSEC works with 1.1.1.1?

Both Cloudfare and Quad9 support DNSSEC, but do not support DNSCrypt. They do support DNS over TLS, but that isn't supported in the fork (yet....about 50% done).

Just in case anyone also wants to use their IPv6 servers, here's the complete list for Cloudfare/Quad9
9.9.9.9 #Quad9 ip4
149.112.112.112 #Quad9 ip4
2620:fe::fe #Quad9 ip6
1.1.1.1 #Cloudflare ip4
1.0.0.1 #Cloudflare ip4
2606:4700:4700::1111 #Cloudflare ip6
2606:4700:4700::1001 #Cloudflare ip6

Looks like cloudflare support dns over https using dnscrypt no?

https://developers.cloudflare.com/1.1.1.1/dns-over-https/cloudflared-proxy/

I think we are saying the same thing [emoji4] I meant to say using dnscrypt-proxy client pointed to cloudflare using dns over https.

https://www.snbforums.com/threads/release-dnscrypt-installer-for-asuswrt.36071/

dnscrypt is a protocol, dnscrypt-proxy is a piece of software.

Cloudflare DNS supports DoH protocol, but not the dnscrypt protocol. You can use whatever client you like that does DoH with Cloudflare, including dnscrypt-proxy.

Edit: @agilani: re-read your post, sounds like we are on the same page. I thought you’re disputing the fact that Cloudflare DNS does not support dnscrypt.

I am currently running version 32E4 on a RT-N66U, to upgrade do I just go in and upload version 33E4? Also will I have to re-enter all setting or will they carry over?

Thanks, AsusRouterUser

Thanks @john9527 for you latest release and continued support :)

Transferred my RT-N66U onto your latest release yesterday, from Merlins last build and all seems to go smoothly.

Yes. Download the new firmware to your PC and unzip it. Then just load the TRX file from the router's web interface. All your settings will be preserved.

Or, https://www.paypal.me/
PayPal.Me is a faster, easier way to get paid through PayPal. Just share your very own PayPal.Me link (paypal.me/YourName) with your friends and family, and they can send you money for lunch, chip in for a group gift, or any other reason.

See the FAQ because you do not have to use "YourName", but anything you like. BUT, you can NOT ever change it.
