Forward only specific port's traffic to Wireguard VPN

Here's what I'm hoping to achieve...

I want to use a Wireguard session/tunnel on the router exclusively/solely for all traffic to/from a specific port.

I'm familiar with VPN Director but in this scenario, I don't want all traffic over the tunnel, just specific port(s). Is this achievable?

I read some posts which suggest this doesn't work with Wireguard, but does OpenVPN. Is this still the case?

Wireguard doesn't have anything like this built in but I don't know for OpenVPN.

Our routers can't use ports for routing rules, so neither vpndirector or manual rules work.

The only way I know of, is to manually setup firewall rules to mark packets to/from a specific port.
Then setup a routing rule to send marked packets to vpn.

Unfortunately the firmware already uses all firewall marks for ai-protect IIRC so it may conflict. I have tested using TOS marks instead which appears possible but I don't know if this too may conflict.
