Hi everyone. Not getting any help on the freenas forum so hoped someone here could help.
I have a Proliant running Freenas 8, really good and fast but I need to back it up.
I have a QNAP TS410 have turned on the server etc, but it wants a password.
The freenas gui does not offer options for entering a password.
I have found out I need to have a password file, but the only way to do this is through the terminal, and to be honest I have not got a clue what I am doing. I am able to ssh into the NAS ok, but beyond that I am stuck.
I have to create a password file, and make its permissions 600, then from the GUI of freenas I have to reference the file.
If anyone can offer some steps to achieve this I would be most grateful.
Have tried it the other way round with the QNAP, but the only methodolgy is FTP, however I am running four separate volumes on the freenas not a raid, and freenas only allows one mount volume for FTP so I am only able to back up one drive.
