Definitely. Coincident with (because of?) this, the casting volume control disappeared in Android 12, and then I found it just as mysteriously reappeared in the recent Android 12 update. Updates for technical issues and security I understand, but to your point about user pain, this entire thing was unnecessary and avoidable.

In addition patent exploitation, care is needed as Google easily forgives itself about abandoning services/integration of what they consider "experiments" but customers consider products . "Works with Nest" comes to mind in the HA space.
