Galaxy 3500-MGB Raid Pro - Problems

voyageurs60

New Around Here
I am getting depressed with NAS devices. After fighting a Netgear SC101 NAS for around a year it finally died. Saw a low cost NAS - the Galaxy 3500-MGB Raid Pro

Installed into the enclosure are 2 -
Hitachi - HDP725050GLA360 - 500GB drives

Choosing RAID 1 to run every week or so it looses the mirrored drive in location A. Device Name: /dev/hda

Last time I swapped the drive from B to A. Afterwords placing the drive into a SATA Enclosure Docking Station and reformatting it appears to work very well.

Wonder if anyone has experience with this device.

Thanks in advance - Dan

Main problem is you haven't had a decent NAS yet. The NETGEAR SC101 was a failed experiment and not a true NAS. The Galaxy is an off-brand.

It helps to use drives on a manufacturer's recommended list. If the manf doesn't have such a list, look for another vendor.
