Nice evening today, so when the light had faded enough to clearly see the display on my Galaxy mobile, I thought I would, as a matter of interest, just check what signal strength my phone was getting in the middle of my rear garden from my RT-AX88U (it's only a small suburban garden, so I was about 4 metres the other side of a closed patio door and the router was about 7-8 metres from the inside of the glass door).
The result was that the 2.4GHz band was indicating up to 15dB weaker than the 5GHz band and approximately half the download speed using the Speedtest.net app. The signal on the 5GHz band also seemed to rather more stable. I was surprised by this as I thought the 2.4GHz band was supposed to be better at greater distances.
