New Around Here
Hi Guys,
been reading through various helpful articles on the web as I'm a complete novice regarding NAS, RAID and any sort line based OS. But starting to get up to speed. I want to provide a simple storage based NAS for a few computers, storing a large library of video and pictures. But need to nothing else than server the household media.
The problem with a lot of articles is that they're a little dated regarding current parts, 2009 and before. I'm looking to make this NAS as energy efficient as possible (can't believe my bills atm). I also need to keep the cost down so will be hoping that the motherboard/cpu will be able to work without the need for an additional expensive raid controller. the board I've titled here only has 4 sata, where 6 would have been better for upgradability, 4 is enough for now. I've not seen much about the board but what I have it seems to compare favourably to the Atoms in terms of power efficiency.
Any thoughts?
Thanks, MaxCG
