GT-AX6000 on firmware 3.0.0.4.388_22068. What do I have to do to install Merlin?

So I have a GT-AX6000 currently running on version 3.0.0.4.388_22068.

I want to migrate to Merlin's builds.

Is it as simple as flashing it over and I'm done? Do I have to factory reset at all?

It's usually advised in these forums after installing Merlin for the first time.

• While it is generally not necessary to restore to factory defaults, it's not a bad idea, especially if there is a big jump in version number (e.g. from 3004.388 to 3006.102). No need to do the 30/30/30 dance (which does not even work on modern devices) - just do a plain Factory Default reset, or turn the device on while keeping the WPS button pressed. (The procedure can be different from one model to another.)
