GT-AXE16000 network throughput

hi, i just got hand on my first asus router and have few questions. Is 10gbe on axe16000 only capable at 7Gbps? I'm using lastest stock. And upgrade to Merlin will make LAN - LAN throughput better (than 7Gbps)?

Only Asus can tell how much they can optimize the performance of the ports, but (considering there is always overhead, and it is a home router) 7Gbps max sounds about right.

I have a 10Gbps line and even the official router from the broadband provider, which is solely designed for this line, can't reach 8Gbps. The rest is overhead.

7GBps is perfectly fine.
