Guide to understanding Asus System router logs

Apologies if this has been clearly posted and labelled, but dismally failed to find it.

Is there a goto help page that can help me understand all the lines in a System log i.e. this means that, This is ok and standard - you should be concerned if this appears etc?

Thanks
Regards

It's not really viable to create any sort of definitive guide IMHO. There are far too many messages and whether they're relevant or indicate a problem often depends on specific circumstances, the router model and how it's being used. Any guide would inevitably be either inaccurate or out of date.

All I can suggest is that you familiarise yourself with what the System Log looks like when your router is working normally. Then hopefully if something goes wrong you'll be able spot what's changed more easily. It's usually obvious when there's lots of "ERROR" messages appearing in the log. ;)

P.S. Being familiar with Linux system messages would also help as many of the router's messages are just normal Linux ones.

I would guess that most people wait until something goes wrong or doesn't work, then go hunting in the log for anything that looks related or important. I'm sure there are some that look at it more closely too, but I doubt the average user bothers util required. Most of it (at least the default level) is just informative as troubleshooting data as opposed to alerting.
