Help me in making my HomeAutomation System

So I am going through this guide on how to build your own home automation system under $40. I thought it was just a clickbait headline at first but it turned out to be pretty fun and cheap so far. First step was setting up the hardware which I did successfully. But I am facing a problem in the second step which is connecting to this cloud service. I tried several times but it is not connecting. Maybe I am doing something wrong. Has anyone done a similar setup and could help me out a bit? I must have a typo somewhere or something..
