High performance router using Ubicom's StreamEngine

I am trying to pick a new router. I have tried various criteria and just can't find anything I am happy with. I went to the Ubicom site and they only list what appear to be slow/obsolete routers.

What I want (rev 3.1):
Ubicom StreamEngine
High WAN/LAN performance
Lots of available CPU/RAM/flash resource
IPV6
Third party support:
- IPV6
- take advantage of StreamEngine

My goals: Max up/down WAN/LAN performance for internet, excellent handling of an external VOIP box (Ooma), resources to run a third party firmware (particularly for best IPV6, but resources for firewall/security would be good)

Any high performance routers with StreamEngine? Third party firmware support of full service IPV6 a secondary consideration, but important.

This boils down to what is the highest performing D-Link with Streamengine?

These have it:

DIR-855 Dual Band Draft 802.11n Wireless Router
DIR-660 Limited Edition Xtreme N™ Gigabit Router
DIR-655 Xtreme N™ Gigabit Router
DIR-635 Wireless N Broadband Router
DAP-1555 Xtreme N Duo MediaBridge™
DGL-4500 Xtreme N™ Gaming Router
DGL-4300 GamerLounge™ Wireless 108G Gaming Router
DGL-4100 GamerLounge™ Broadband Gigabit Gaming Router
DI-724GU Wireless 108G QoS Gigabit Office Router

Keep in mind that although the D-Link DIR-657 released this year was a bit of a flop, the DIR-827 and DIR-857 seem to be the light on the horizon for those of us wanting / needing a high performance router with the Ubicom engine. I also have the Ooma device and have tested it with the older D-Link DIR-655 and achieved excellent results relying on its auto QoS function. After having the DIR-655 for only a brief time (less than 2 weeks), I returned it when I heard about the latest routers coming from D-Link. I just grabbed a D-Link 8-port gigabit switch on sale for $25 down from $65 back in March of 2011 to tide me over until the 827 and 857 have proved themselves in testing here. I don't know about third party firmware support, but considering you'd have to spend almost 10 times as much to get a decently functioning QoS engine as you can get from the Ubicom chipped D-Link routers, I've put 3rd party firmware support very low down on the priority list personally. I've seen someone else speaking very positively about their experiences with the DIR-827 here: http://forums.smallnetbuilder.com/showthread.php?t=6175. I'm just waiting to hear what Mr. Thiggins has to say about both the 827 and 857 before I decide on my purchase. I'm sure it will be one of these routers, since I'm getting tired of my NAS device being unavailable remotely due to the lackluster port forwarding in the Ooma.

I have been waiting on a review for the DIR-827 and DIR-857 from here since Ubicom based routers are my favorite. However, I did purchase the RT-N56U earlier in the year to replace my DGL-4500, and have been pleased and somewhat disappointed at a few things. I would advised waiting for a review, an impulse buy for at least a DIR-827 if available to procure, or purchase another well reviewed and liked router. I must admit in my years there is never the "perfect" router. One will always have some negative attribute or attributes-so, I know how you feel about trying to find the most pleasing router.

D-Link DIR 827 review coming soon

I contacted Mr. Higgins a little over a week ago and he responded promptly saying that the D-Link DIR-827 would be reviewed soon. I've seen this router on Amazon and other sites for around $150. Like I said previously, it'll be either the 827 with 300 mb transfer speeds on both bands or the 857 with 450 mb transfer speeds on both bands for me. I've seen the 857 on Amazon and Tigerdirect for $189 but is currently on back-order. :(
