How to backup CFE on GT-AC5300

I am trying to backup the CFE on ASUSWRT. I have use with the command: "cp /dev/mtd0 cfe.bin" and it end up with a 82.6MB file whitch annot open by the CFE editor. Would someone help?

did you try this command

cat /dev/mtd0 > original_cfe.bin

Thanks for the suggestion. The file is still 82.6MB. Something is not quite right. What is the normal size of a CFE bin file?
