How to bridge between ASUS RT-N56U and Buffalo G300NH

AOC5577

New Around Here
Hello everyone

yes...im having problems/troubles/questions.... ><

I simply cannot bridge these two routers together ><

Before I bought the Asus Black Diamond, I had no problems bridging two identical Buffalo G300NHs, but I just dont know what to do with ASUS + Buffalo

The very first problem is encounter was...the buffalo router's ip address has always been 192.168.11.x

And the Asus router's ip address is 192.168.1.x

Asus is my primary router, so i have to change the ip address of my buffalo router. But every time when i change from 192.168.11.x to 192.168.1.x, then click save/apply....I CANNOT access the Buffalo router page anymore ><

On my Asus router page, these are some of my settings:

AP Mode: Hybrid

Channel: 11

Remote Bridge List: the mac address of Buffalo Router

Wireless Mode: Auto

Channel: 11

WPA-Personal + TKIP+AES

I've actually seen some people on the forum successfully bridged the two routers together (Black Diamond + G300NH) but they did not mention the steps ><

Thank in Advance guys :)

I've contacted ASUS Wireless Support today and confirmed with them that ASUS RT-N56U does not support bridge mode....

and i asked..." but how about the 'bridge tab' on the router page?", they said that thing is for DSL modem...

okay...im completely confused now....so now i cannot bridge the two routers together because the asus rt-n56u does not suport WDS/Bridge???

but people on this forum or even elsewhere have success bridging router together >< ???

totally confused and dont know wat to do now....:confused::confused:

P.S. thx thiggins for posting that link

The settings you describe sure sound like WDS. As the article I refered you to says, WDS usually does not work with WPA. SHUT OFF encryption on both routers and try the bridge. If it work then try WEP.
