How to make rTorrent traffic go through VPN with selective routing ON

Hello,

I have rTorrent on Asus RT-AC56U that I'd like to use VPN for traffic. In the same time I have policy routing enabled for VPN client as I want some of network devices to go directly through WAN. I cannot make rTorrent use VPN in any way. Tried to add 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 VPN policy, as I though all will go through VPN and then I will just choose devices I want to go through WAN but it is not working. Is there any other way to achieve this?

Check this thread. I had the same problem with transmission and solved it with this. Hopefully you can transfer this to tTorrent

Thanks a lot! Seems it works, finally installed Deluge as rtorrent was killing CPU...
