How to use Traffic Monitor with a attached USB drive?

I would like to save all traffic monitor data to a USB drive, but every time I set it to sdb1, it fails to properly save any statistics data.

Is there a guide on how to properly use this feature?

in short you should find everything in Tools -> Other Settings.

1) Traffic history location = "Custom location"
2) Save history location = "/mnt/ASUS/"

I have /mnt/ASUS/ in that field. ASUS is the label of the attached USB storage physically mounted on /dev/sda1 on mine.

Have you tried to select your mount point directly using the Select button with a nice browsable folder view?

3) Create or reset IPTraffic data files = "yes"
4) Apply
