New Around Here
I'm setting up a TP-Link Archer AX1800 router that supports up to 1200Mbps maximum transfer rate (yes, I understand this is theoretical) over 5Ghz, but seem to be capped at 866Mbps. The client (MacBook Pro 2019 16-inch) supports up to 1300Mbps transfer rate. Here are my settings:
  • OFDMA: enabled
  • Smart Connect: disabled
  • Channel Width: 80Hz
  • Channel: auto
  • Mode: 802.11b/g/n/ax mixed
  • MU-MIMO: enabled
  • Airtime Fairness: disabled
Any suggestions?

Your MBP has an AC class wireless adaptor. Does it have 3 antennae/streams though?

You may also want to try using a new, never before used SSID as a test. The internal microcode that the old SSID may be storing could be interfering too.

Change the mode to Auto or AC and not mixed.

Did you test with new SSID's?

1200Mbps is only in AX mode. In AC mode it supports up to 867Mbps (2x2), which you are getting.
