I like to have control over starting different services (dnsmasq, pptpd, firewall...)
and prefer not to use the patching addition ... sed to modify,postconf.. the original firmware scripts... and the processes not fired up multiple times ...(with respect)
(i can not patch what i'm not supposed to see... to many odd side effect = personal view,
I know i 'll lose it on upgrades.... thats not the issue...)

I would like to be able to copy in my startup shell's and let them execute as they are (ex in init-start)
But that code gets overwitten ( sometimes multiple times (pptpd) )

can anyone give me a view, idea to bypass that trouble(only trouble for me, with respect)

thanks.
