• Download this zip-file with Voxels firmware, from: http://www.voxel-firmware.com/Downloads/Voxel/R9000-Voxel-firmware/R9000-V1.0.4.38.1HF.zip
• Unzip the downloaded file, to extract the image file: R9000-V1.0.4.38.1HF.img
• Logon to the router (From your web-browser): http://www.routerlogin.net
• Go to Advanced : Administration : Firmware Update
• Select "Locate and select the upgrade file on your hard disk.: Browse"
• Select "Locate and select the upgrade file on your hard disk.: Upload"

Then you might want to install this add-on:

The interface is the same as stock firmware, only with Voxel avatar and different icons on the front page. The rest is the same

Yes. The kamoj addon has even more VPN options

If you install this, you get a graphical user interface allowing you to use any vpn provider:

As from above, to use openvpn:

If you don't want to install the add-on, you can still use Voxel firmware by following the instructions
in Voxel's readme.docx file on how to manually use the openvpn/wireguard-client to connect to your openvpn/wireguard provider.

(A future version of the add-on (5.2+) will handle Wireguard as well, but today it is limited to OpenVPN)
