iPod Touch 2G won't detect my network

I have been using a Belkin Pre-N F5D8230-4 for awhile. I have had a PS3 connected to it for a couple of years with no issues.

A few days ago I got an iPod Touch 2G. I updated the firmware to 2.2 (most current).
I tried to connect it to the network and it's "Join Networks" feature fails to detect my network. I took it to an Apple store in a mall and it detected and connected to the Apple store. Web browser worked. In the store it also detected two other networks. I left the store and it picked up two other networks as I left the mall. When I got home, same thing. It would detect my network.
Outside it will detect the network of two neighbors.
At work, it picks up the network.

I tried to manually enter my network settings, but since it doesn't detect the network, it will not connect.

I am not sure where to start with this. I would appreciate any ideas.
Thanks.

I'd verify that SSID broadcasting was on, and/or attempt to put your router in a pure 11b/g configuration (if it supports it).

Thanks for the reply.
I just got it to work. I reset network settings in the iPod Touch software. It still didn't detect my network. I typed in my SSID and WPA key, it detected my network and connected.
It seems to work at different parts of the house, now. I hope it stays working.

Yes, if you are not broadcasting the SSID then it will not be found by the iPod. But you can enter it manually. I think there's an "other" choice for this.

Jdabbs and David,

You were both right. I did have the SSID broadcast turned off in my router. I should have checked that first. I forgot I had set it that way (awhile ago). I never detected any of my neighbors' networks, either. Later, when I went outside with it, I found another network.

I had read where some were having connection issues with the iPod Touch (hardware and software) and thought that may have been the issue.

Thanks to both of you.
